All students are to follow the below timetable to enable them to submit/complete their TOK essay on time.

For all deadlines you must upload the work using this template.
Put your name and a file description on every file you upload as that way 2 files with the same name will not be uploaded. i.e. if everyone uploaded a file called Ideassofar.doc your work would not be on your page as there would be two files with this name on the Wiki spaces server. Follow this naming convention to avoid problems

1. In what ways may disagreement aid the pursuit of knowledge in the natural and human sciences?

The Ways Of Knowing (WOK) for this essay i think would be Perception, Reason, language and Emotion. The Areas Of Knowing (AOK) for this essay would be Natural Science, Human science, ethics and religion.

In this essay i could talk about why people disagree with what human and natural sciences tell them because they have stronger beliefs in their religion and stronger ethics and morals. I can also answer this question by saying why they disagree with what science is telling them and why they disagree with the theories proven to them. as well as why they believe that their morals and beliefs are more correct than what science proves to them.

3. “The possession of knowledge carries an ethical responsibility.” Evaluate this claim.

The Ways Of Knowing (WOK) for this essay i think would be Perception, Reason, language and Emotion. The Areas Of Knowing (AOK) for this essay would be Ethics, Religion and History.

For this essay i think i could write about: the possession of knowledge carries ethical responsibility because of what people's morals and beliefs are. It also touches on religions because the knowledge that they have has the backing up from their religion, beliefs and morals towards life. It touches on history because the religions were followed many years ago and that is when the books were written about certain religions which people follow up until now the right and the wrongs about how they live their daily life's it also differs from religion to religion as there are different beliefs. Due to the difference the possession of knowledge is different from people to people but similar due to their religion beliefs and morals.

5. “That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.” (Christopher Hitchens). Do you agree?

The Ways Of Knowing (WOK) for this essay i think would be Perception, Reason, language and Emotion. The Areas Of Knowing (AOK) for this essay would be maths, ethics, religion, human science and natural science.

For this essay i can write arguments for and against the question and give examples from the areas of knowledge such as u need evidence to prove that a maths question is right and cannot just say its right without evidence, but if we look at it from a point of view from religion or ethics anything said does not have to be proven with evidence because this is what people have believed in for ever and therefore can be dismissed without any evidence of why something is correct or not.
